ENGL 435W FIrst 2 Weeks Reflection

It has been two weeks since the start of the Fall 2017 semester. Over the next three months, we will capitalize on previous writing, rhetoric, and communication classes to learn how to effectively write for management purposes. In doing so, in addition to our writing skills, we will further develop and reinforce our project management and team collaboration skills. So far, we have overviewed how technology and asynchronous classes work, explored the syllabus, learned critical rhetorical terminology we need to know in order to effectively navigate the course assignments, and read the introduction to the memo which is the first step toward our first writing assignment.

The activities over these two weeks have included completing the skills assessment and getting to know each other assignments; setting up a blog and publishing our first reflections; reading a chapter from the textbook and two powerpoint presentations; and completing policy research and short report activity. The two latter activities are important as they prepare us for our first writing assignment - researching and writing up a short report on social media policy for our class.

This semester being my last one before graduation, I look forward to the next three exciting months!
