Here we are at the end of a long journey! Well, actually, it has been a roller coaster ride packed with hard work and excitement. This week we read our last chapter in Markel, completed the final two activities, reviewed our peers’ project deliverables, and some of us revised and submitted their previous projects that had received a B+ or lower grade.

What I liked the most about this course was its focus on the practical application of technical writing concepts. We drafted, reviewed, and revised technical documents in several genres: memos, research proposals, tutorials, resumes, and cover letters. Getting the genre conventions right wasn’t always simple or straightforward, but we were rewarded with generous comments and feedback from the instructor and from our peers. To rephrase the popular saying, no hard work goes unrewarded!

It did feel a lot like a face-to-face class environment. Communication through Google + space was extremely efficient. At first, I was concerned that our posts would get lost, but it did not happen: We got immediate responses both from the instructor and the peers. Honestly, the level of personal attention and feedback was excellent. I truly believe I learned a lot about technical writing and improved my writing through constant practice.

I wish my classmates the best of luck with their final projects and excellent final grades!
